SHAKING UP AND REWORKING OLD IMAGES, AN ARTIST CREATES A NEW VISUAL WORLD
by Edward M. Gómez
A creative spirit in constant motion, just like the body it animates: To get to know the work of the collage-making artist Paul Plumadore is to learn that movement has long fascinated him and that, perhaps instinctively, he has brought a strong sense of rhythm and energy into the unusual images he has conjured up using found, mostly antique-vintage materials.

Today, Plumadore lives and works at his home in rural, northeastern Pennsylvania, in a village located near the Delaware River, which serves as the border with New York State, immediately to the east. There, he keeps a studio filled with the old books that serve as the raw material for his collage art and with assorted works-in-progress; on the property, there is also a private, by-appointment gallery that features an always evolving selection of his creations.
